Claremont’s zombie run is back! Now with a longer course and more zombies than ever!
Take on the zombie horde individually, or compete for glory and honor in the famous team competition.
This run isn’t about obstacles and racing – it’s about the adventure of escaping a garden infested with hundreds of zombies and living to tell the story.
The objective is to run through the winding pathways in the Garden and avoid having your flag belt stripped by zombies that lie in wait throughout the running course.

Don’t worry, our zombies don’t bite. They have gone to our exclusive Zombie Training Camp and made over by a professional makeup team to look the part.
Survive the running course without a zombie taking your flag belt and win a free craft brew from the beer garden! Those under 21 win a free soft drink of their choice. (Limit one per person and those competing in the team competition are not eligible).
Why the Dead Garden Run?
This is not your average zombie run where you dash across open terrain, with zombies in plain sight and artificial obstacles erected in the pathway. The Dead Garden is an authentic zombie apocalypse scenario. Instead of open terrain, you face dark and mysterious garden pathways; the garden envelops you and zombies come out of the shadows to attack suddenly and unexpectedly; the only obstacle to your survival is fear of the unknown.
Whether or not you finish with your life belt intact, the post-apocalypse after party is where zombies and humans alike come together to enjoy a cold beer and brag about their exploits.
The Dead Garden Run is a family friendly event. Kids 12 and under can register for only $10 and there will be a kids zone at the base camp with bouncy houses and activities.
Spectators are free at the Claremont location.
What do I get for registering as a runner?
- Access to the zombie-infested garden. You are free to run through as many times as you like!
- Access to the base camp with festivities and the post-apocalypse after party with DJ and beer garden.
- Runners packet that includes a free event shirt.
- Opportunity to win FREE beer (21 and over) or soft drink of choice for surviving the zombies with your flag belt.
If you don’t want to go on the run you can still register as a spectator for only $10 and get access to all the festivities at the base camp and enjoy a front row seat to the zombie apocalypse.
Event Day Schedule:
Grounds open at 7am (you will select a preferred start time when you register).

What do I need to come prepared?
Make sure to register early for best pricing and before your preferred start time sells out! This was a very popular run last year and times are going to sell out fast.
Once you are registered for the run, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on when and where to pick up your running packet. We will allow packet pickup on the day of the event, but it is highly recommended that you pick up the packet before that time to avoid a long line and delays.
To fully participate in the post apocalypse party and attractions you will want to bring photo ID and cash or card. Here are some of the things you will see:
-Team Competitions with top survivors ceremony
-Beer garden serving craft brews
-Win FREE beer by surviving the garden with flag belt (21 and over only)
Important: the packet contains the running bib you will need to get access to the start line.
Packet pickup for the Claremont run on May 2nd is at the following location and times:
4189 Santa Ana st. Unit F
Ontario, CA 91761
You can come by on any Tuesday or Thursday on or after April 14th between 12pm and 4pm.
If you want to pick up a packet for another person, you will need their full name and birth date.
Packet pickup will be available on the event day if you are unable to make it to one of the scheduled pre-pickup days. However this option is not recommended as picking up on the event day will cause delays for processing.
1) Don’t get eaten by zombies!
2) Unfortunately we do not allow pets at the run. Only certified service dogs are permitted.
3) Strollers are NOT allowed on the course.
4) This is not a contact sport. Attempts to protect your flag belt from zombies will have to be limited to making maneuvers. No guarding, hitting, or biting will be allowed.
5) While running for your life from zombies, you MUST stay on the designated path. Anyone unfortunate enough to stray from the path is most certainly doomed to get lost and overtaken by a band of hungry zombies.
How do I get started?
It’s real easy!
First step: convince yourself you are brave enough to take on the zombie-infested botanic garden.
Second step: select a location, register, and start honing your zombie survival skills.
